Mobility Technician / Field Service Engineer
Service, repair & install mobility scooters, wheelchairs & stairlifts across Leicestershire
Location: Outskirts of Leicester
Hours: Monday–Friday, 9:00am–5:00pm
Pay: £31,200.00-£41,600.00 per year
About the Role
Mobile Mobility is looking for an experienced Mobility Technician / Field Service Engineer to join our team. Working from our site on the outskirts of Leicester, you’ll be responsible for the servicing, repair, installation and maintenance of a wide range of mobility equipment—including mobility scooters, powered wheelchairs and stairlifts.
This is a rewarding, hands‑on role supporting a vulnerable client base. You’ll help customers stay safe, independent and mobile, working both independently and as part of a friendly, supportive team.
Key Responsibilities
- Service, diagnose faults and repair mobility scooters, powered wheelchairs and stairlifts
- Complete installation and preventative maintenance work
- Carry out electrical and mechanical fault‑finding
- Maintain accurate records using Microsoft Office and CRM systems
- Communicate professionally with customers, suppliers and colleagues
- Work independently on field service visits and contribute to the wider team
- Represent Mobile Mobility with a calm, caring and professional attitude at all times
What We’re Looking For
- Previous electrical or mechanical experience, including working with alternating current (AC) (essential)
- Experience repairing or maintaining mobility equipment, mobility aids or similar electro‑mechanical products
- Strong practical and problem‑solving skills
- Physically capable and confident using tools and equipment
- A calm, patient and caring nature suited to working with vulnerable individuals
- Excellent attention to detail
- Good spoken and written English
- IT‑literate and able to learn new digital systems
- Able to follow written and verbal instructions
- Self‑motivated, trustworthy, adaptable and willing to learn
- Sales skills or willingness to learn (advantageous)
Driving Requirements
- Full, clean UK driving licence (held for a minimum of 3 years)
- Category B licence — required for company vehicle use
Training & Development
- Full onsite training provided
- Ongoing manufacturer and product training throughout employment
